How to install a new sample pack

You can upload samples by connecting the Loopstyler to your PC using the provided USB cable, or by removing the SD card and inserting it into your computer's SD card reader.

If you removed the SD card and opened it in the computer, you may see more than one disk drive. In this case, find the larger drive, where the factory samples are.

On older operating systems you may only see one drive and it will most likely be the first partition
and not the one with samples, so you'll need to use the USB cable instead.

  1. Download the sample pack (zip or rar file) and save it to a local drive.
  2. Extract files from the archive.
  3. Look at the extracted files. You should see a folder with samples, and a patch file. If the pack contains more than one patches, and/or more than one samples directory, you will find them in a sub-directory.
  4. Copy the files accordingly: put patch files into Loopstyler's "patches" directory, and copy folders containing samples to Loopstyler's "samples" directory.
  5. You can rename the patch files, to have them accessible at desired numbers, and/or to avoid clashing with other patches.
  6. Ensure that the new patches are located directly in the "patches" directory, next to other patches, and not in another subdirectory there. If not, move them where they belong.
  7. Ensure that the new samples are located only one level deep from the sample directory, e.g. "/samples/pack_name‑samples/sample1.wav" and not for example "/samples/pack_name‑samples/samples_folders/sample1.wav".
  8. If the patches you copied overwrote other files, you may need to power the unit off and on again, to clear the cache. Otherwise, that should not be necessary.
  9. To load a double digit numbered patch, for example #75, use command "PAT PAT 75". You can go to previous or next patch quickly using arrows: "PAT & left or right arrow".

(the complete commands reference is here.)

WARNING: If you already created your own patches, please make sure that the new patches do not conflict with yours. Be careful to not overwrite them accidentally.
